2014 - Red Bull's Power

There’s a reason Red Bull have won the constructors’ championship four times with a driver winning the same amount of drivers’ championship- they don’t become complacent. They’re at the top of their game and they continue to look for more to keep them right there at the top.

With the new regulations coming in, people think this will level the playing field, and for some teams, it’s sink or swim time; but I predict Red Bull will still be ahead.

They had Adrian Newey back at the factory during the Brazilian GP, Daniel Ricciardo has been desperately working hard to make sure he fits to the car’s new build, proving his hunger and determination to do well with Red Bull before he’s even left their sister team, and then there’s Sebastian Vettel- a driver who dominated the last half of 2013, driving every race like the lead was about to be taken away from him. He never lets up. Not for a second.

The team remain hungry for the next win as a whole. New engines and regulations will prevent them from becoming stagnant, to take their dominance to another level. 2014 will make them stronger. They’re ready for change.

I Booked a Holiday...

And my whole blogging life went to pot.

I am easily distracted. Sometime I even forget what I'm saying mid-sentence if one of the cats strikes a ridiculous pose. You can imagine what happened with life in general when we booked our holiday to Las Vegas!

VIVA LAS VEGAS!

Planning was done. Lots of planning was done. Then packing. Then organising bills to be paid and animals to be looked after. Before we knew it, it was time to go and I'd not written one post about my excitement. Not one!

So, consider this your one post warning. The next few posts will probably be all about the trip. So many fun times. So many memories.

Having a Pet in Your Life

For the past 6.5 weeks I've been doing the Insanity workout. It's hard. Really hard. The warm-up is basically a regular workout.

But this is not what I'm about to discuss.

It's this:

This is Riley (Bugface). He's the favourite I shouldn't have because he likes cuddle time. Sometimes he's really persistent on cuddle time when it's not convenient. Like when I'm busting a gut doing 'globe twists'.

'You should totally take up yoga, mum.'

'See? It's so much easier. You just stretch like this.'

Then when I'm trying to maintain my plank and do push-ups (never realised my arm strength was so poor!), this occurs:

'I'll just sleep here until you're ready to give me some love. It's okay, I'll love you even though I have to wait.'

Then I was attempting 'Level 2 Drills'.
'Here! I help you stay up- then cuddle time?'

Naturally when I finished 5 minutes after this, ready to give him cuddle time, he'd left the building.

A Conversation

Having just sucked up a spider into the vacuum cleaner, I had a conversation with said devil-creature.

Me: Now you stay in there, die and think about what you did.

Husband: What? For existing?

Me: Precisely!

Reasonable- right?!

Sometimes

I am not a morning person. I am a night owl through and through- hence my blog name. Then the husband suggested getting up early on a Sunday morning to take some photographs (a hobby that relaxes us both) and I mustn't have been listening as I said, 'Yes, okay.'

It was when the alarm went off that I realised what I'd done in my agreement.

However, sometimes it's worth me being a little bit more proactive because I found flowers basking in the morning light!

Drew

Whilst I was working on what I wanted to do with my little blog and the things I would post about, not to mention getting my little owl doodle just right, Drew, one of my cats, went missing.

Is this my best side?
Drew is all white, around 4/5 years of age and one of the most sweetest cats I've ever owned. We got him from the R.S.P.C.A. just under three years ago and he settled in with the rest like he'd always been here. He likes to nibble fingers, be all up in your face if he wants affection and sunbathe- with those ears! He hates shouty voices, the harsh wind and the dog being all up in his face for affection.

He'd been missing before for 24 hours at most as the neighbours on the street love him, so he would quite happily stroll into their houses and sleep the day away in some hidden corner. Then 2 days went. Then 3.

Today marked the 13th day he'd been missing and sadly we got a little knock on the door from the neighbour two doors down to tell us that Drew's body had been found in the far back corner of next door neighbour's garden. We had hoped he would stroll home soon, demanding his empty bowl to be filled, because across the road had seen him 4 days after the last time we'd seen him, so we're not sure what happened as it was clear Drew had been there a while.

Hey you! Human! My bowl is empty! Why is this?!
I had planned on doing little profile posts about each of my pets kids with fur (yes, I'm that person) because they all have such strange tics and we've always said we have odd animals. Alas, Drew's has been done as a little memory post instead.

Sleep well, sweet Drew, sleep well.

It Began with a Thought

I have thoughts. Lots of them. I'm your typical introvert when it comes to the ratio of thoughts to speech. Hundreds of thoughts will lead to a sentence of about 5 words.

Sometimes my thoughts are really random. Insanely random. And sometimes I just want to get them out of my head.

So I will.

My thought of strangeness today was this:

What if tyrants and dictators procrastinated as much as me?
